IBIS Group USA Signs Exclusive U.S. Distribution Agreement with Bisly
New partnership brings Bisly’s European building automation platform to the U.S. residential and mixed-use market
NEW YORK, September 23, 2026 — International Building Intelligence Solutions LLC (IBIS Group USA), a U.S. building technology distributor and integrator operating out of New Jersey and New York, has signed an exclusive agreement to distribute Bisly building automation solutions in the United States. The five-year agreement represents Bisly’s largest partnership outside Europe.
Bisly develops building automation hardware and software as one integrated system. It covers heating and ventilation control, room sensors for temperature, humidity, CO₂ and presence, and lighting. At its core is a deployment toolchain built on a digital twin of the building, designed to make automation simpler and less expensive to install. Bisly systems already operate in more than 6,000 homes and over 10 million square feet of floor space across Europe.
Two large markets, one gap
According to MarketsandMarkets, the global building automation market was worth $101 billion in 2025 and will reach $191 billion by 2030. North America is the largest region, at close to a third of the global market. Europe stands at $25 billion and is set to grow to $41 billion by 2030.
Both markets share the same gap. Supply is split between vendors of single-function products and incumbents selling complete systems at high cost. The large vendors build for towers and Class A offices, and below roughly 200,000 square feet their economics stop working. That leaves a very large number of residential and mixed-use buildings unserved, and that is the market Bisly is built for.
Rising requirements on both sides of the Atlantic
Energy performance and emissions requirements for buildings are tightening in both Europe and the US, making building automation mandatory in a growing share of buildings. Regulation speeds the market up, but it is not the only reason to buy. Bisly pays for itself on its own merits: in residential buildings, payback is typically two to three years and energy costs fall by up to 40%.
Why the digital twin changes the math
On a conventional automation project, hardware and software are the smaller part of the cost. Most of the budget goes to engineering: control logic written for one specific building, then commissioned room by room and controller by controller.
Bisly starts every deployment from a digital twin of the building. In residential and mixed-use buildings, where room types and systems repeat, this removes a large share of the engineering hours and makes the finished system significantly cheaper than a conventional one. Bisly is extending the same method to ever larger and more complex buildings.
A partner on the ground in the U.S.
IBIS is owned by Bernhard Boennemann and Jay Govender and operates out of New Jersey and New York. IBIS is responsible for the distribution and market development of Bisly solutions in the U.S., working with local partners for installation and support, while product and technology development continues in Tallinn. In September the two companies met owners, managing agents and developers across New York City, and they are already in talks with one of the city's largest developers about deploying Bisly across its portfolio.
